We seek to appoint a Teacher of Drama and Dance to provide a caring and exceptional educational environment. This position is offered on a permanent, part-time basis 0.6 FTE , during term time only, commencing during Term 3 2025. About the role: The Teacher of Drama is responsible for the following tasks: Teaching Drama & Dance classes to students from ELC to Year 6 Providing a nurturing, interesting and stimulating learning environment which caters for the needs of all children Using inquiry as a pedagogical approach and a diverse range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all individuals Applying evidence-based, contemporary practices and the philosophy of Reggio Emilia and the International Baccalaureate, Primary Years Programme when designing learning opportunities and experiences Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to and participation in professional learning and growth activities that generate an awareness of current trends and development in education and enhance children’s learning Providing information on the programme and learning outcomes of the children for parents and the wider school community Developing and maintaining student assessment and report writing procedures Maintaining regular communication with all staff members, students and parents regarding the Drama Programme and activities, including performance dates Working collaboratively with classroom and specialist teachers to design transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry About you: To be successful in this role you will need to be: Registered as a Teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, which includes a National Police Check undertaken by VIT Experienced in teaching Drama within a Primary School Recognised to be at a proficient level in all of the AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers Geelong Grammar School is committed to the safety of all students and has a zero tolerance of student abuse.
